APSTAR-I features an extensive coverage providing a footprint bounded
in the north by North and South Korea; south by Indonesia; east by Japan;
and west by part of Russia.
APSTAR-I is a HS-376 communication satellite built by Hughes Space and Communications International, Inc. The satellite has 24 C-Band medium power transponders which are used for a number of communcations services, such as regional television broadcasting, telephone, facsimile and data transmission. The satellite allows the transmission and distribution of television broadcasting signals without any intermediate service station. APSTAR-I was launched in July 1994 and has been providing services to our clients since September 15, 1994. |
