Overview of APT Satellite Control Center

The APT Satellite Control Center is an 84,981-square-foot facility located in Tai Po Industrial Estate in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Phase I of the Satellite Control Center was completed in 1994, with its main purpose to provide TT&C (Telemetry, Tracking and Control), communication traffic monitoring and customer technical support services for our initial fleet of satellites—namely APSTAR I, APSTAR 1A and APSTAR IIR. Phase II of the Satellite Control Center was completed in 2002. In the following years, with the subsequent addition of APSTAR V and APSTAR VI to our satellite fleet, the capacity of the Satellite Control Center has increased to accommodate our rapid expansion.
