Apstar-7 is based on the SPACEBUS4000-C2Platform which is one of the most reliable satellite platforms in the present market. The satellite is built with 28 C-band transponders and 28 Ku-band transponders.

As the replacement satellite of Apstar 2R, Apstar-7 has the merits of high power,high reliability,long life, etc and it is scheduled to be launched at Xichang Satellite Launch Center(XSLC) in March 2012. It covers Asia, Australia,Middle East,Eastern Africa and Eastern Europe. It will be one of the most powerful satellites in the region.Apstar-7 is operated by APT Satellite.
