Mr. YUEN Pak Yiu Philip, aged 69, was appointed as an Independent Non-executive Director of the Company in October 1996. Mr. Yuen was also appointed as the Chairman of the Nomination Committee of the Company and as the member of the Remuneration Committee of the Company on 11 April 2005. Mr. Yuen is also the Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Company. He graduated from Law School in England in 1961 and commenced the practice of law in Hong Kong in 1962. In 1965, he established his solicitors' firm, Yung, Yu, Yuen & Co., and now is the principal partner in the firm. Mr. Yuen has over 30 years' experience in the legal field and has been a Director of a number of listed companies including Henderson Investment Limited, Henderson China Holdings Limited and Melbourne Enterprises Limited. He is a Director of the China Appointed Attesting Officers Association in Hong Kong , a Standing Committee Member of the China Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong, a Member of the National Committee of Chinese Peoples' Political Consultative Conference, an Arbitrator at the China International Economic & Trade Arbitration Commission and an Adviser of Hong Kong Affairs to the PRC government.
