APSTAR-5C and APSTAR-6C satellite program achieved good progress

APSTAR has started both APSTAR-5C and APSTAR-6C satellite program in 2015, until now both program are proceeding smoothly.

Until June 2016, the APSTAR-5C program has completed the Payload EQSR, System PDR and Antenna PDR successfully. The APSTAR-6C payload CDR was conducted successfully on 14th June, 2016. The progress and schedule of both satellites are in line with the predication.

About Apstar-5C: APSTAR-5C is based on SSL FS-1300 platform which will be equipped with C-band, Ku-band regional beams and a Ku-band HTS payload, providing high power transponder services to customers across the Asia-Pacific region for VSAT, video distribution, DTH, mobility broadband applications. APSTAR-5C will be replacing in-orbit APSTAR-5 satellite in year 2018.

About APSTAR-6C: APSTAR-6C is based on CASC DFH-4 platform which will be equipped with C-band, Ku-band, and Ka-band transponders, providing high power transponder services to customers across the Asia-Pacific region for VSAT, video distribution, DTH, cellular backhaul and mobility broadband applications. APSTAR-6C will be replacing in-orbit APSTAR-6 satellite in year 2018.
