APT operates a 19,000 sq. ft. satellite control centre on a 85,000 sq. ft. property at the Tai Po Industrial Estate, Hong Kong. APT employs approximately 40 experienced satellite and communications specialists and engineers to control and monitor continuously APT's satellites in the geostationary orbit. The satellite control centre operates in 6/4 Ghz (C-Band) and 14/12 Ghz (Ku-Band) to carry out tracking, telemetry, command and communication traffic monitoring operations for the APT satellites round the clock. It currently operates six antennae (13m, 5.5m, 11m, 6.1m and 9m for C-band, and 8.1m for Ku-band) and nine transmission facilities as well as associated equipment and facilities. The 11m antennae is a full-motion, monopulse tracking antenna which can support GTO mission.
