APSTAR VI Successfully Launched from
Xichang Satellite Launch Center
Hong Kong, April 12, 2005 – APT Satellite Holdings Limited (together with its subsidiaries known as the “Group”) (Stock Code: 1045 or ATS) today announced that the APSTAR VI satellite was successfully launched at 8:00 p.m. on April 12, 2005 from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center aboard a Long March 3B launch vehicle. The satellite is expected to be operational in June, this year.
APSTAR VI is the fifth in-orbit satellite of the Group and a powerful addition to the APSTAR fleet. APSTAR VI is planned for operation from 134 degrees East longitude as a replacement satellite to APSTAR IA. This satellite will provide high power Asia Pacific footprints with its C-band transponders covering China , India , Southeast Asia , Australia , the Pacific Islands and Hawaii , while the Ku-band focusing in China . In addition, it is the first commercial satellite in China equipped with anti-jamming feature.

APSTAR VI
APSTAR VI is a high power satellite based on a SB -4100 C 1 model supplied by Alcatel Space with 38 C -band transponders and 12 Ku-band transponders. This satellite has Asia Pacific footprints with its C-band transponders covering China , India , Southeast Asia , Australia , the Pacific Islands and Hawaii , while the Ku-band focusing in China . In addition, APSTAR VI is the first commercial satellite in China to be equipped with anti-jamming feature and has a strong neighborhood effect with CCTV and other renowned Chinese broadcasters, which will become the next most popular multilingual and multicultural satellite platform in Asia Pacific Region.
APSTAR VI was successfully launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in China aboard a Long March 3B launch vehicle of China Great Wall Industry Corporation on April 12, 2005 to replace APSTAR IA at geostationary orbital slot 134 degree East and is expected to have a life of over 14 years.
