APSTAR-IIR To Be Launched in Second Half
Mr. Liu Jiyuan, General Manager of China Aerospace Corporation, yesterday revealed that China plans to launch a communication satellite APSTAR-IIR, which will serve the Hong Kong region in the second half of this year.

China Plans To Launch Communication Satellite for Hong Kong Region
"Mr. Liu Jiyuan, General Manager of China Aerospace Corporation, yesterday revealed that China plans to launch a communication satellite APSTAR-IIR, which will serve the Hong Kong region in the second half of this year.
Mr. Liu Jiyuan said that China aerospace industry will continue its cooperation with Hong Kong's business sector. Historically, China Aerospace Corporation has extensive connections with Hong Kong. At the same time, China aerospace industry has been widely supported by the people of Hong Kong.
On 7th April, 1990, China's Long March rocket started its commercial services. From then on, AsiaSat-2, APSTAR-I and APSTAR-IA were launched successfully and became operational."
