Tashkent, September 22, 2026 — During ICT Week Uzbekistan 2026, Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov met with senior management of APT Satellite Company Limited (APT Satellite) to discuss the development of satellite communications, telecommunications infrastructure, and expanded cooperation in Central Asia.

The parties explored the satellite communications market in Uzbekistan, APT Satellite's business plans in the country, and opportunities to leverage its existing and future satellites to expand telecommunications services—including satellite broadband Internet, broadcasting, and other digital services—as well as its plans for fleet expansion and the launch of advanced new satellites to improve service quality across Central Asia.

A key outcome of the meeting was the signing of a cooperation agreement between APT Satellite and UZ-SAT in the presence of Minister Sherzod Shermatov, aimed at advancing practical cooperation in satellite communications and digital infrastructure. The agreement was signed by Jasper Tan, Vice President of APT Satellite, and Bakhrom Azimov, CEO of UZ-SAT.
